Warranty and Warranty Period

Spectre Lighting warrants to the original end user that all manufactured products and components will be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the duration of the applicable warranty period.
The warranty period begins on the date of invoice to the end user. If proof of invoice cannot be provided, the warranty period will instead begin on the date the product was dispatched from Spectre Lighting.
Usage Limitations
Domestic Use:
- Up to 5 hours per day
- 7 days per week
- 52 weeks per year
- Total annual usage: 1,820 hours
Commercial Use:
- Up to 12 hours per day
- 6 days per week
- 52 weeks per year
- Total annual usage: 7,488 hours
Spectre Lighting’s Warranty Obligations
Spectre Lighting’s sole responsibility under this warranty is to repair or replace the product(s) during the warranty period.
Spectre Lighting is not responsible for delays in repair or replacement. Any repaired or replaced product will remain covered for the remainder of the original warranty period. If a product is deemed beyond repair, Spectre Lighting may, at its sole discretion, provide a new product or one of equivalent specification.
Warranty coverage applies only to repairs carried out by Spectre Lighting’s approved technicians or authorised service agents.
If no fault is found that falls within the terms of the Extended Warranty, Spectre Lighting reserves the right to charge reasonable inspection or service costs.
Spectre Lighting shall not be liable for any loss of profit, or any special, indirect or consequential loss, or any costs, damages, charges, fees or expenses except for liability that Spectre Lighting is not allowed to exclude by law.
Disclaimer of Other Warranties
No other warranties, expressed or implied, are given and Spectre Lighting expressly disclaims all other warranties, including and without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for purpose.
Limitations
No salesperson, representative, distributor or agent is authorised to alter or contradict this Limited Warranty.
Any modification must be in writing and signed by an authorised representative of Spectre Lighting.
Additional limitations include:
- Spectre Lighting accepts no responsibility for the suitability of products for specific applications, including compatibility with other products.
- Products that have been tampered with, altered or incorrectly installed will not be covered.
- Technical information or recommendations provided by Spectre Lighting are based on believed reliable testing but do not constitute a guarantee.
- Spectre Lighting is not liable for loss of profits, goodwill or any special, incidental or consequential damages relating to products or components.

Warranty Exclusions
The warranty becomes void under any of the following conditions:
- Modification or repair by the installer, end user or any unauthorised service provider.
- Installation errors, incorrect or unstable power supply, lack of maintenance, accidental damage or neglect by the installer, end user or third parties.
- Installation not carried out by a qualified electrician or authorised installer where required by law or by Spectre Lighting’s instructions.
- Failure to protect the product from external damage, extreme temperatures (operating range 0–25°C), humidity, electrical fluctuations or poor installation workmanship.
- Corrosion or damage caused by installation in environments containing chemicals, fertilisers or heavily polluted air, including proximity to chemical plants.
- Misuse or intentional damage by the owner or third parties.
- Use of non‑approved parts, lamps, cleaning products or third‑party components.
- Failure to replace emergency luminaire battery packs after four years. All emergency luminaires must be tested in accordance with BS EN 5266‑8‑2004. Increased testing frequency may require earlier battery replacement.

Exceeding Product Limitations
- Labour costs are not covered under this warranty.
- Spectre Lighting is not liable for loss of profit or any special, indirect or consequential damages, except where legally prohibited from excluding such liability.
- Carriage costs for returned items are not covered.
Battery Warranty Coverage
Lithium Batteries:
- Covered under a standard 5 year warranty from the date of purchase.
- All emergency luminaires must be tested in accordance with BS EN 5266‑8‑2004. Increased testing frequency may result in earlier than standard battery replacement.
